“Oh……well I’m sure you’ll meet people….”  (No thanks)

“Won’t you be lonely?”  (Not at all)

“You’re so brave!” (Not exactly)

“Oh I could never do that…” (Sure you could)

“I’ll come with you!” (No)

These are just a sampling of the comments I’ve heard while explaining my solo travel plans.  Anyone hearing about my lone venturing for the first time tends to stammer out a comment akin to the ones above, usually paired with a facial expression combining horror, fear, shock and pity.
